The sky is falling

But I'm not going down without a fight.

"I'm a warrior! I'm a warrior! My love is fierce! I would die for you, for you. I'm a warrior! With a warrior's heart, and it burns for you, for you. I won't give up, I won't give up, I won't give up on you."
~ I'm A Warrior-Audio adrenalin

My heart is tired, but I'm not fallen apart, not yet.

Outlaw
Run like the wind
Feel the breath in your hair
Hold your heart in your hand
Pretend that everything will be fine
Fake some happy laughter
Stand on braggadocio

Outlaw, keep running
Fleeing this reality
Sure what you don't see
Cannot hurt you
As long as it doesn't catch up
But the ostrich still gets eaten
You still will die
And all you're doing is running out of time

Death is laughing at you
The sepulcher gleefully sneers
You can't cheat them by fleeing
They're still waiting here
And the speed of your legs will never be enough

Outlaw, you've been running
For one step past too long
And now you are gunning
Down your one true song
You don't know what you're becoming
Everyone politely turns their face
Away from this monster staring from the grate

Look in the mirror now
It may not be to late
Remember ashes and sack cloth
Before your heart freezes over
Eyes grow cold and empty
Your soul is bleak and shallow

Outlaw, your pride is winning
Hope is not that way
Turn around, face the sun
Thaw this ice on the window pane
Come back to life, try again
Don't keep hiding the rot
Behind that boisterous grin

You hate me; but I love you
Only I can see past your mask
I see Pain's shadow etched in your eyes
Stop running Outlaw, the Law's to big
You can't beat it, you can't trick it, you can't get away
The cliff is behind you, death is so near

Trust me friend, though you despise me
Renegade living will never take the cake
Losing is all this trail leads to
Outlaw, please stop running away
Stop running, why are you running?

Running

Running

What do sepulcher and braggadocio mean? You always use words I don't know....now I know what it's like for the people in my youth group. :-) They have asked me before the meanings of words such as lament, prudence, incredulous, dubious, and integral. Now those words I CAN define.

"Desperado, why don't you come to your senses, you've been out ridin' fences, for so long now."
Your poem kind of reminds me of that old Eagles song. Just keep looking to Jesus - you'll be ok.
