Suddenly in the mood to write poetry
They Said
My freinds said they knew meMy freinds said they cared
My enemies said they slew me
My enemies said they took my hair
And they all lied
They lied cause they were human
They lied cause they didn't know
But in the end it didn't matter
Because there's Someone by whom I'm known
And I have died so as to truly live
So they were both right about what happened
But they still did not understand
Because they were too small
And they were too small cause they were only men
Title Undecided
Slumbering, slumbering, thinking of happy things
Slumbering, slumbering, dreaming peaceful dreams
Cause the world is not what I thought it was
The good I want is so hard to come by
Reality is painful, to live is to suffer indeed
And sin seems so triumphant, Hell's gates seem destined to succeed
I'd rather stay in bed now, its such a safe place to be
But the monster has disappeared from the closet
The world has all gone wrong
That thing I tried to run from
Has come alive in me
Bring out the rusted sword now, hone its edge sharp again,
Strengthen what remains now, shake off the chains of sin
Get up from the bed my freind, thats enough rest for today
Your soul has grown weak and flabby, you've wandered from the Way
Yet the Shepherd does not forget His children, and no matter how far they run,
They're under His jurisdiction, ransomed by the blood of the Son
Remain no longer inactive, His army has languished far to long
Its time to raise His holy banner and sing anew His song
This battle is not easy, the enemy's power is great
We win by trusting Jesus, and do not hesitate
Blood is spilling on the ground, pain is searing my flesh
My arm is growing tired, but I won't return to that hidious mesh
Left hand struggles against the right
I'm failing though fighting with all my might
The dark is around me, night is near
I've failed countless times, but He's still here
Victory comes slowly, with flesh like mine
Yet victory is certain, and everything is fine
So yeah, the computer at last turned on and life is happy
