Are you ready?

Ok peoples! Here are 9 quotes from books and movies, in order to drum up some commenting action I am challenging all of you to guess where they came from. On your mark, get set, GO

In the lead, as he came on, he took the spear thrust squarely in the chest beside the nipple on the right side; piercing him, the bronze point issued by the shoulder blade, and in the dust he reeled and fell.

"Morning glory and hallelujah, Commander"

"Doesn't anyone care about Sid the sloth?"

"Awake and strengthen what remains and is on the point of death...."

"You keep calling me Demetri, you really shouldn't."

"It's a test of manhood."

"Are you entertained?"

"Thus sayeth the neighbor of Andrew, that thou wouldst be pleased to pass the butter"

On them! On them! They give way! They give way!

Woooo, I don't know. I'm going to guess the first one is from Homer's Iliad, while the one about "Are you entertained?" is from Gladiator. I don't know if there is even a book version of that, but the only place I remember seeing that was in the movie. :D

Yeah, this is from books and movies. Y'all probably won't guess some of these, but I'll give hints. One of them is from the Bible, you just have to figure out which book, for the manhood one think of a big hairy scot carrying a rock. Jordan is probably the only one who will know the morning glory thing. Surely other people can figure out the Demetri one, I'm sure some of you have seen that movie. The last one is so obscure that no one will probably know it, its a Henty book.

ooolala! caleb got censored by the blog administrator!

if you think i'm the only one who can guess, then i'll say that the morning glory one is from rocket man. and since there has been another post and people probably won't even read this anymore, then i'll say that the one about demetri is from MI II.

the "awake and strengthen what remains" one is, i believe the one that's from the bible, but i don't have one handy at the moment, and i'm not sure which verse it is. maybe from Isaiah.
